President of PTAA was appointed as new VP of ATAA

Dr. Atilla Soran, President PTAA, was appointed as the new Northcentral Region Vice President of Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA). Here is the announcement and a brief biography of Dr. Soran.
Dear All,
ATAA VP, Mr. Hakan Ilkin has resigned from his position due to his heavy work load as he is building a new business. On behalf of the board, I thank him for his help and contributions while he was with us and I look forward to his future contributions to ATAA.
For the position of Northcentral Region ATAA VP, I have appointed Dr. Atilla Soran, who also happens to be the president of PTAA, in Pittsburgh. He is a well-liked and a hard working new president who has dramatically increased the PTAA membership since his election to his position.
I look forward to working with him, and his valuable assistance to ATAA in variety of Turkish-American issues.

19 Mayis 1965'te dogan Dr.Atilla Soran, 1983 yilinda Ankara Anadolu Lisesi ve 1989 yilinda Tip Fakultesinden mezun oldu. 1994 Yilinda Genel Cerrahi ihtisasini alan Dr. Soran ihtisasi sirasinda Ingiltere'de St.Mary's Hospital'da calisti. 1997-1999 tarihleri arasinda University of Pittsburgh'ta meme kanseri ve yogun bakim konularinda "postdoctoral fellowship" olarak calisti. 2000 Yilinda Cerrahi Docenti olan Dr. Soran 2001 yilindan bu yana University of Pittsburgh'ta ogretim uyesi kadrosu ile calismaktadir. 2002-2003 yilinda Pittsburgh Turkish American Association baskan yardimciligina ve 2003-2004 yilinda ayni dernegin baskanligina secilmistir.
